Medieval bindings

I became interested in early bindings and came across this one in a book so decided to work out how I could recreate it. It is a soft wallet of leather with the single fold of text paper attached by punching holes through the text spine and the leather then simply feeding through some thread (hemp cord) to the outside and simply tying off.

Not that simple of course but an interesting exercise and my colleagues liked the result. Will perhaps simplify it a little and make a few more. Have included another image. Hope you like it.
